NHRCK/EWU Global Social Responsibility Center jointly holds the 3rd Human Rights Management Forum

The National Human Rights Commission of Korea (Chairperson Byung-chul Hyun) held <the 3rd Human Rights Management Forum> on November 26, 2013 (Tues) from 13:30 to 17:30 at LG Convention Hall, International Education Building, Ehwa Women's University.
The forum was jointly held by the NHRCK and EWU Global Social Responsibility Center (Prof. Young-sook Nam) to promote voluntary human rights management and expand culture of human rights management among businesses. The forum presented 'business cases of human rights management practice' and discussed 'plans to improve institutions and situations of human rights violations in Korean businesses with foreign operations'.
Along with cases of human rights management practices by businesses presented by notable enterprises in Korea, the forum held academic discussion sessions to explore types and causes of human rights violations by Korean businesses operating overseas and to engage in debates on how to prevent human rights violations by the businesses, and provide effective remedies to cases of violations through judicial and non-judicial means.
The NHRCK seeks to make recommendations and release opinions based on the core policy and institutional issues examined at the forum for realization of Korean businesses practicing voluntary human rights management.
