NHRCK Held a Joint Symposium Between Korea-Japan

On May 2nd, the National Human Rights Commission of Korea (NHRCK) has presented a ‘Korea-Japan Symposium’ under the theme of “Domestic Implementation of International Human Rights Law: Current Problems and Future.” At this symposium, many recognized Korean and Japanese human rights specialists have participated and carried out a successful discussion.
At this symposium, the discussion was held based on two specific agendas: 1) Domestic Implementation of Concluding observation and Views on Human Rights Committee; 2) Status of International human rights law as judicial norms.
As a result of the discussion of the symposium, both countries confirmed the necessity to ensure the successful implementation of the concluding observation. And the participants agreed that comparing and considering cases in Korea and Japan can be a useful reference to the research of the consolidation of the international human rights.
