Chil-Joon Kim Appointed as Secretary General

On January 29, 2007, Chil-Joon Kim (lawyer, 47) was appointed secretary general of the NHRCK (high-ranking official in special government service).
Secretary General Kim passed the 29th national judicial examination and the 31st senior civil service examination in 1987. Since 1990, he has been working as a lawyer. His major career positions are as follows: partner of Dasan Law Firm (1998~present); chairperson of Human Rights Foundation Saram (2004~present); co-chairperson of the People’s Solidarity for Welfare of Gyeonggi Province (1999~present); head of the Center for Claiming Small Rights under the People’s Solidarity for Participatory Democracy (1999~present); and government-appointed director at Kyonggi University (2006~present).
He expressed his dedication to NHRCK’s effort to create a society that truly respects human rights.
