NHRCK Participates in GANHRI SCA Accreditation Review
The National Human Rights Commission of Korea (Chairperson Doohwan Song) participated in the accreditation review presided over by the GANHRI Sub-committee on Accreditation. The accreditation review was held virtually and Chairperson Song provided answer to the questions from the Sub-committee members in person.
The GANHRI Sub-committee on Accreditation(hereinafter SCA) reviews each of its member institutions to assess whether the institutions are complying with the ‘Paris Principles’ and grants status according to the assessments. The accreditation review is conducted once in every five years and the Commission was granted ‘A’ status in the most recent review in May 2016.
The Commission has submitted the required documents(the Statement of Compliance with the Paris Principles and the annual report, Comments on the Report of Civil Society Organizations, and the Comments on the Summary of Review Documents written by the Secretariat) to the Sub-committee in time for the accreditation review.
The final report of the SCA review is to be released at the end of November, and the status granted by the SCA will be finalized upon the approval from the GANHRI Bureau.
