o The National Human Rights Commission of Korea published a Guideline on Prevention of Sexual Harassment against Care Workers.
o Care workers are reportedly suffering from sexual harassment or verbal abuse by service users and their family members. 2015 survey of the Gyeonggido Family and Women Research Institute
o In most cases, perpetrators of sexual harassment against care workers are clients or service users, and there lacks proper legal or institutional measures to protect care workers.
o The Guideline includes ‘cases of sexual harassment’, ‘what care-service users should know’ ‘how to respond to sexual harassment’ ‘role of monitoring institutions’ and ‘legal information’.
o The Guideline will be distributed to related institutions, and is posted at the official website of the NHRCK which can be downloaded by the public.
