NHRCK carried out itinerant human rights counseling in Ansan

o The National Human Rights Commission of Korea carried out itinerant human rights counseling service for migrant workers whose human rights are often violated to listen to their voices and seek measures to better protect their human rights.

 

o The counseling service was carried out at the Ansan Migrant Center ’Village without Border’ on 13 November, 2016.

 

o Migrant workers were able to receive counseling service on variety or issue including human rights infringements, discrimination, labor, legal affairs and immigration. In a bid to enhance effectiveness of the counseling service investigators from the NHRCK, supervisor from the Ministry of Employment and Labor, public officials in charge of immigration, lawyers, certified labor attorneys and interpreters took part as well.

 

o The NHRCK will transfer received cases to departments concerned to provide effective and immediate remedy, and refer to those cases in making policy recommendations for the promotion of human rights of migrant workers.
