2018 Action Plans for Human Rights

The five strategic objectives are:
  • Carrying out the 5th Plan for the Promotion of Human Rights in a stable manner
  • Proposing an immediate and persuasive measures to major human rights issues
  • Strengthening to develope alternative measures to implement international human rights standards in Korea
  • Making active efforts to expand human rights protection system
  • Expanding communication and exchanging with human rights protection institutions and organizations

2017 Action Plans for Human Rights

The five strategic objectives are:
  • Successful completion of the 4th Plan and establishment of a constructive 5th Plan
  • Strengthening timeliness and effectiveness of human rights agenda
  • Strengthening our role as a quasi-international institution
  • Strengthening continuous cooperation at home and abroad and preventive function for protection of human rights
  • Pushing ahead with institutionalization of human rights to strengthen independence of NHRCK

2016 Action Plans for Human Rights

The five strategic objectives are:
  • Strengthening implementation of the 4th Plan for the Promotion of Human Rights
  • Guaranting timeliness and effectiveness of human rights agenda
  • Strengthening national/international cooperation based on communication, empathy and participation
  • Strengthening status as a quasi-international institution and creating a foundation to strengthen PR function
  • Enhancing expertise of members of NHRCK

2015 Action Plans for Human Rights

The four strategic objectives are:
  • Successful launching of the 4th Plan for the Promotion of Human Rights
  • Protection of human rights in new agenda and area
  • Strengthening protection of human rights of socially weak and vulnerable people
  • Active response to human rights agenda at home and abroad

2012-2014 Action Plans for Human Rights

The National Human Rights Commission of Korea adopted the 2012-14 Action Plans for the Promotion of Human Rights which focus on ① cultivating a culture of human rights; ② constructing an institutional framework of human rights protection; and ③ strengthening its capacity to provide an effective remedy for victims of human rights violations.

The five strategic objectives are:
  • Ensuring and strengthening a legal and administrative system for the protection of fundamental rights
  • Expanding the human rights protection for socially vulnerable groups
  • Improving the effectiveness of its investigations and remedies
  • Spreading a culture of human rights through human rights education
  • Eliminating discrimination
