NHRCK Chairperson Meets with Indonesian Counterpart

On July 17 2024, Chairperson Doo-hwan Song of the National Human Rights Commission of Korea (NHRCK) met with his Indonesian counterpart Atnike Nova Sigiro to exchange information as members of the same Asia-Pacific regional network of national human rights institutions (NHRI) and explore ways to promote solidarity and cooperation. Among the topics discussed were the enabling laws and selection processes of commissioners of the NHRIs of Korea and Indonesia. Chairperson Song also wished to further collaborate with the Indonesian National Commission on Human Rights on the drafting of the guildelines relating to the roles of NHRIs in conflict contexts in the Asia-Pacific region and the convention on the rights of older persons.
